BATESON COMMERCIALS~Formed in 1934, Bateson Trailers have produced many thousands of trailers for varied applications.

Bateson's design experience utilises the latest durable materials and the best equipment available has enabled them to produce an extensive range of platform and general purpose trailers which combine exceptional strength with a low unladen weight and excellent stable towing characteristics.

All trailers are fully galvanised, and have Avonride softride fully independent rubber suspension axles, auto reversing brakes and a hydraulically damped hitch with a lockable cast coupling and power assisted hand brake.

Standard equipment includes a phenol coated plywood floor, flush fitting side rails with post sockets and roping hooks, a front telescopic jockey wheel and full road lights. Beaver tail transporters are supplied with slide-in loading ramps, rear loading legs and a hand winch. Hydraulic tipping trailers have galvanised steel sides as standard. A hand operated pump on Model 202H and 12v electric pumps on Models 263H and 353H.

Beaver tail transporters, and platform trailers 4.3 metres long and 5 metres long can be manufactured with a hydraulically tilting body and ramp tail door to allow equipment to be loaded with very low ground clearance. Platform widths can be increased up to 7' 6" (2.3 m) the maximum legal limit where wider loads are to be accommodated and platform lengths can be increased to special order if required. 2000 kgs gross weight trailers are suitable for use with cars and light vehicles, 2600 kgs trailers allow extra capacity and remain within the maximum permitted gross train weights of certain goods vehicles, and 3500 kgs gross is the maximum permitted weight for a draw bar trailer that does not require an operators licence or be subject to HGV regulations, and is suitable for use with larger vehicles and most 4 x 4s.

Many trailers are available with a large range of optional equipment to suit your exact requirements, including expanded metal ramp doors with lifting springs and extension sides with a fixed front and two removable mesh side panels.

Bateson Single Axle Trailers~The Space Treka Model 'M' is designed to carry two horses up to 16.2 hh.~This range of general purpose trailers has been designed to offer maximum strength with a low unladen weight, combined with modern appearance and safe, stable towing characteristics.

All models have a hot dipped galvanised steel chassis with 2 mm thick pre-galvanised steel sides 300 mm deep and a 18 mm phenol coated non-slip plywood floor.

Bateson Twin Axle Trailers~~This range of general purpose trailers has been designed to offer maximum strength with a low unladen weight, combined with modern appearance and safe, stable towing characteristics.

All models have a hot dipped galvanised steel chassis with 2 mm thick pre-galvanised steel sides 300 mm deep and a 18 mm phenol coated non-slip plywood floor.

The independent rubber suspension axles have auto reversing brakes, operated by cast steel hydraulic damped over run coupling with a power assisted hand brake and integral jockey wheel. Bateson Mini Excavator~~Models 20MD, 26MD and 35MD have been designed to transport Mini Excavators up to 16oo kgs, 2100 kg and 2790 kgs respectively. They are fabricated with a heavy duty hot dipped galvanised box steel chassis with integral welded steel mudguards.

Models 26MD and 35 MD are fitted with a full width spring assisted ramp door suitable for all types of machines including rollers. Steel infilled sides and a spare wheel are available as options but, this increases the unladen weight and reduces the payload. 2000 kgs & 2600 kgs Platform Trailers~~Standard platform trailers are available with gross weights of 2000 kgs, 2600 kgs and 3500 kgs. The capacity depends on the optional equipment fitted to the trailer.

Trailers are supplied as a flat platform with roping hooks, full road lights, front jockey wheel and auto reversing overrun brakes.

Optional equipment can be fitted to requirements, including steel hinged sides, loading ramps and carrier, rear loading legs, ladder rack, spare wheel and mesh extension sides.

3500 kgs Platform Trailers~~Standard platform trailers are available with gross weights of 2000 kgs, 2600 kgs and 3500 kgs. The capacity depends on the optional equipment fitted to the trailer.

Trailers are supplied as a flat platform with roping hooks, full road lights, front jockey wheel and auto reversing overrun brakes.

Optional equipment can be fitted to requirements, including steel hinged sides, loading ramps and carrier, rear loading legs, ladder rack, spare wheel and mesh extension sides.

Bateson Transporter Trailers~~Beaver tail transporter trailers are available 14 Ft or 16 Ft long and 2000 kgs, 2600 kgs and 3500 kgs gross weights. All have a 4 Ft (1.2 m) long beaver tail section sloping approximately 4 inches (10 cm).

Standard equipment includes two slide-in loading ramps , rear loading legs and a suitable hand winch. Bateson Tipping Trailers~~Hydraulic tipping trailers are available 8 Ft (2.5 m), 2000 kgs gross weight, and 10 Ft (3 m) long with gross weights 2600 kgs and 3500 kgs.

Standard equipment includes 12 in (30 cm) deep steel sides, a hand pump on Model 202 H and 12 volt electric hydraulic pumps on 263 H and 353 H. A battery box is provided , but no battery. Longer leads can be supplied with a 2 pin plug, to plug directly into a heavy duty socket on the towing vehicle as an alternative.
